Our Mission

LuMin St. Louis is a progressive faith community serving colleges in St Louis. We are here to help you build an honest community as you wrestle through questions of identity & vocation during your college & early professional years. We live out our Christian faith with total inclusivity for all people and a focus on social justice. Come celebrate worship with us Sunday nights. We offer a variety of weekly events for undergrad, grad students & young professionals—and hope to be your place of welcome in St. Louis!

We are a mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America,  Central States Synod,  the ELCA LuMin Network, and Grace United Methodist Church. We are also part of the LGBTQIA+ inclusive Reconciling Works Community and the Reconciling Ministries Network. We welcome ALL students & young professionals of St. Louis area colleges and universities, though we primarily serve Washington University in St Louis and St. Louis University.

Statement of Sanctuary

We welcome all to this place.

Our ministry is rooted in the love of Jesus, embracing everyone. Mutual trust and respect, in the Spirit of Christ, is offered to all who may elsewhere experience alienation, distrust or rejection. All people, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, racial & ethnic identity, immigration status, denomination affiliation, or any other barrier that divides God’s people are welcome. As Beloved of God, we work towards racial, economic, and social justice to reduce harm in our community in love of our neighbor. By the grace of God, we are freed to proclaim our unity and celebrate our diversity.

This House, this Table, this Community is a safe place. (updated July 26, 2021)

What we do

As a faith community, we gather for worship on Sundays, learn about God’s love for God’s people in bible study and coffee chats, gather mid-week to support one another, and participate in community and justice events.  Students & young professionals are welcome to any or all of these events.
